Travel and Tourism Internship Tour
With the aim of combining theory and practice, giving students the opportunity to gain more knowledge and skills of tourist destinations, and providing them an exposure to the real environment in restaurants, hotels, attraction sites, etc…, from December 22 to December 26, 2019, Ton Duc Thang College (TDTC) successfully organized Nha Trang – Da Lat internship tour (5 days 4 nights) for students majoring tourism and travel management. This tour was planned to provide students employability skills for their future career.
In a tourist attraction
Thanks to this internship tour, all students had the opportunity to manage a tour, consisting of preliminary preparation, means of transport, accomodation, food and beverage, and guide service. And the internship allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical environment, as well as shaping relevent experience for their career path.

Furthermore, students could study, check and research for required information related to the tour such as routes, destinations, related suppliers such as restaurants, hotels, recreation areas, etc… in Nha Trang and Da Lat, two famous tourist cities. It was the initial step to facilitate students’ evaluating the potential, strengths and weaknesses of tourist places of Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong provinces in particular and of Vietnam in general, which not only raised their awaress about the sustainable exploitation of tourism resources, but also built the love of homeland, the patriotism and the national pride.

During the tour, the students enhanced not only more professional skills and knowledge of tourist destinations, but also more employability skills such as presentation, teamwork, problem solving, leadership, emotional control, MC, etc.... and, more importantly, showed the solidarity, caring and sharing amongst members of the group.

The students also visited two campuses of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) in Nha Trang city and Bao Loc city. Here, exchange activities helped them to deepen their understanding of these campuses, nurturing their love for TDTU.

The internship tour ended successfully, marking the beginning of their career in tourism. No matter how hard the challenges the students faced in the trip, their new-found enthusiasm would lift them above all of future obstacles. After all, smile and faith in the chosen career path are what help them keep moving forward.
